Nothing says "manly" more so than the subtle artistry of the manbeard. Well, that and the male nursing profession. But since this is the WMU English Beard Off of 2008, I will settle for the former. As a judge, I will be looking at the robustness and density of hair, color and texture of bristles, growth patterns and shape of whiskers, along with the overall impact of beard in accordance to your chosen beardspiration.
Bonus points will be awarded to those who are more creative in their beard endeavors. Refer to fig. 1 "Facial Hair Types" (left) for some styling options. I, for one, am partial to the "Short Boxed Beard" for a simple day look and "Hulihee" for a dramatic night look. And who wouldn't want to shake the hand of a man with "Friendly Mutton Chops?" Simply unfathomable.

I'm thinking there could be some wicked kokologies tied in with your personal favorite beard. What does the "French Fork" say about you as an individual?
